Whenever I don't know what lipstick to wear, I reach for Dior Addict Extreme 356 Cherie Bow. It's a long-wearing and hydrating lipstick, and Cherie Bow is such a feminine and soft color, so it really goes with any look. Also, a huge plus to this lipstick is that I don't need a mirror to apply it, it just applies flawlessly every time. MAC Heaux came out in Rihanna's first collaboration a couple months ago, so I'm pretty sure it was limited edition, but this is the most perfect matte berry color (sorry). MAC Rebel is a pretty good dupe of Heaux shade wise, it just doesn't have that matte finish which I think is what makes me love it. So much has been said about MAC Ruby Woo and I'm pretty sure everyone is familiar with it, but it you aren't I'll keep it short: it's a matte blue toned red that is universally flattering and makes your teeth look insanely white.
Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter Berry Smoothie is one of those my-lips-but-better colors for me. It's a lip butter so it glides right on, and is just one of those easy colors that I really enjoy. I literally have 15 colors from this collection, but this is my star. Oh, YSL Volupte Sheer Candy 05 Mouthwatering Berry, sigh. Gorgeous packaging aside, this really is one of my favorite lip products. It's more of a glossy balm then a lipstick, but it still has pretty impressive color pay off for a balm which is why I would categorize it as a lipstick. I like it dolo, but I also like keeping it on me if I'm wearing a deep berry lipstick and my lips start feeling dry or if I'm wearing a berry lipstain that's fading a little after a long day, this is perfect. And you guys, it smells so mother effing good. No seriously. Go smell it.
You may have noticed a trend by now. As much as I like bright and bold colors, I can't resist an easy, everyday, effortless lipstick. I love the entire Rouge Coco Shine collection, but Chanel Rouge Coco Shine 54 Boy is my favorite. It's a beige pink (my-lips-but-better) color, smells lovely (as do all Chanel lipsticks), and feels really good on. Last but not least, Chanel Rouge Coco Hydrating Creme Lip Color 05 Mademoiselle. If I was only allowed one lip product, this would be it. This is actually my ride or die, and not just of lipsticks, just in general yo. Mademoiselle is a medium pink with a likkle brown, which makes it very neutral. It has a slight natural sheen, goes on evenly and smoothly every time, and is just the most perfect everyday/forever color.
Just kidding I'm not done. I'm sneaking these two in here because they're basically lipstick, just in liquid form. When it comes to liquid lipstick, it's important to remember that there are LEVELS TO THIS SHIT. I'll explain.
Armani Lip Maestro 504 Ecstasy is a gloss, a lipstick, and a lip stain all in one. 1. Apply one coat evenly all over your lips and it's a vibrant pinky red gloss with the pigmentation of a lipstick. 2. Apply one coat, blot lips, apply a second coat, blot lips, apply a third coat (maybe even a fourth coat if you're insane like me) and press the color into your lips with your finger tips and that lipstick will not budge. Word is bond. 3. Apply one coat, smooth it around with your finger tip then begin patting it in until it's the perfect stain. My favorite way to wear this is as a stain. Obviously after a while the color fades a little, but it's definitely still there, and yes it fades evenly. Rimmel Lip Lacquer 101 Celestial is kind of the drugstore version of Armani Lip Maestro. I have it in a few colors but my favorite is Celestial because it's just enough pink without being too pink, feel me? And it smells like candy which is really important to me.
