Vail, Colorado Travel Diary | Vail Marriott Mountain Resort

IMG_9946 Earlier this month/late last month I was lucky enough to be invited to stay at the Vail Marriott Mountain Resort in Colorado for my birthday. I love being in the mountains and have been to Colorado before, so I knew this would the perfect place to celebrate. As soon as I arrived at the resort, it felt like I had been transported to a beautiful European ski chalet. The staff was super friendly and I was even given the insider scoop on where Kanye ate while he vacationed in Vail (so necessary).

I walked up to the west wing of the resort and into my mountain view studio king suite and if you follow me on Instagram you'll know how instantly obsessed I was. It had that quintessential cabin feel but all the amenities of a luxurious resort, which is basically perfect (and why I literally did not leave my suite all day). I slipped into a fluffy white robe, sat by the fire, ordered room service and it was the most perfect birthday.

I woke up on Saturday feeling refreshed, and with a Starbucks just a few steps from my suite I grabbed a coffee and luxuriously sipped it on one of my two balconies (yes, two) with unreal views of the gorgeous mountains everywhere I turned. I reluctantly left my room to explore Lionshead Village, but it was totally worth it. Vail is truly one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to. Everything was walking distance from the resort which I took full advantage of, but they also offer car service as well as buses that run every twenty minutes. I always find that whenever I am exploring a new place, walking is the best way to get an authentic feel and find all the best places, and that crisp mountain air makes walking around even more enjoyable. I had a gorgeous brunch at Vintage, a French brasserie-style restaurant and spent the rest of the afternoon exploring.

Because everything is so close to the resort, going back to my suite for a quick nap by the fire and outfit change was a no brainer. After a little recharge and much needed iPhone charge, we decided to spend the rest of the afternoon on the top of Vail Mountain (pro tip: the ski lifts after free after 3pm if you're going up to explore or grab a bite). As soon as we got to the top of the mountain it started to snow, which only added to the magic of Vail Mountain.

We got back from the mountain just in time for complimentary s'mores and hot chocolate by the fire pit. I honestly could have sat out there all night, but we had dinner and bowling reservations at Bol Vail (a Kanye spot).

Sunday was our last full day in Vail, so we decided to make the most of it. We had an insane brunch and finally utilized the free buses (my food baby did not enjoy the walking) and relaxed in the room for a few hours before leaving again to do some more exploring. We initially planned on coming back to the resort before our dinner reservation, but once I sat on the couch I knew that there was no way I was leaving again. Room service is basically the greatest thing, ever.

On Monday I woke up to snow capped roofs and pine trees, which made leaving even harder. I had my last breakfast on the balcony and took an amazing bath in the giant tub before packing. I had such a wonderful time in Vail, it was one of the most relaxing trips I've been on. Thank you again to the Vail Marriott Mountain Resort for being so generous in hosting me and making this trip so perfect.
